Webinar provides guides for telepractice delivery of speech and language services

Associate Professor of Communication Disorders Mary Andrianopoulos and recent doctoral graduate Colleen Gargan PhD '20 presented a webinar on "Telepractice Delivery of Speech and Language Services: Basics, Logistics, Guidelines, and Evidence Based Practice" for speech-language practitioners transitioning to remote delivery in response to the ongoing pandemic

Over the course of the webinar, held on April 20, Andrianopoulos and colleagues presented more than a decade’s worth of research supporting the efficacy of and best practices for telepractice delivery. The virtual event also featured short presentations by Communication Disorders alumnae Nerissa Hall ’07 PhD ‘13, Jeanne Chaclas MA ‘14, and Samantha Bernier MA ’14. Professor of Education Mary Lynn Boscardin moderated the webinar’s Q&A sessions.

Over the past 15 years, Andrianopoulos has funded the training of more than 100 full-time graduate students in speech-language pathology through U.S. Department of Education training grants. Her most recent awards include Project REMOTE and Project iPREP.
