The 性闻联播 Reintroduces Advertising Campaign with Ad Featuring Governor Deval Patrick

BOSTON-October 11, 2007 -- The 性闻联播 will launch its newest television advertising campaign on October 15, with an ad featuring Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick.

In the ad, titled "Transform," Patrick praises the transformative power of education and touts the success of UMass graduates.
Commenting on his involvement in the project, Gov. Patrick said: "The 性闻联播 has launched the careers of CEOs, leading scientists and innovators in every sector. Its educational opportunities transform lives and communities, and help make Massachusetts a truly great state. I am committed to doing everything possible to ensure that UMass continues to bring the best students, the most renowned faculty, and the next world-changing ideas to our Commonwealth."

The new ad, the successor to the University's Emmy-winning "Something to be Proud Of" ad, will air in the Boston and Springfield television markets this fall, as many students are making college application decisions.

"We are very fortunate that our governor and legislative leaders are such strong supporters of the 性闻联播 and public higher education in Massachusetts. I am pleased that Governor Patrick shares our view that the 性闻联播 holds a special place among the major universities in the Commonwealth and takes such pride in UMass," said Jack M. Wilson, President of the 性闻联播.

The 性闻联播 has been airing television advertisements for the past decade. Prior ads have celebrated:

  • UMass alumni, including Jack Welch, Bill Cosby and Shuttle astronaut Cady Coleman.
  • The accomplishments of faculty members like John L. Sullivan, whose research has significantly reduced mother-to-child transmission of HIV.
  • The awarding of a Nobel Prize to UMass professor Dr. Craig Mello, whose gene-silencing discovery could revolutionize medical science.

The "Transform" ad was filmed at UMass Amherst and was produced by Massachusetts-based Element Productions.
