性闻联播 Announces 2015 "Running for a Reason" Boston Marathon Team

Boston, MA- March 30, 2015:The 性闻联播 today announced that it would for the second year in a row field a Boston Marathon team that will honor the memory of UMass Boston alumna Krystle Campbell and raise money for a scholarship fund established in her memory.

The 2015 UMass Boston Marathon team includes local business executives, along with graduates and staff members from the UMass system. They are running under the name "Running for a Reason: Krystle's Legacy."

"With her compassion and commitment to pursuing a quality education and achieving her dreams, Krystle exemplified the very best of UMass students," said UMass President Robert L. Caret. "Her journey was cut tragically short, but her dedication and passion inspires us all. This scholarship fund is a fitting tribute to her legacy, as it provides other students the opportunity to pursue their academic dreams."

The Krystle Campbell Scholarship Fund was founded by UMass Trustee Richard Campbell, J.D., and his wife Barbara Campbell, who - like Krystle - are graduates of Medford High School. The first two recipients of the scholarship are expected to be announced in April.

"We are proud and excited to announce the 2015 'Running for a Reason' Marathon team that is running to honor Krystle's memory," said Richard Campbell, a graduate of UMass Boston who is not related to Krystle.

"Krystle has been a source of inspiration to me personally and to so many throughout the UMass community. The 2015 Marathon team has been hard at work training and they are looking forward to participating in this tremendous race to support Krystle and the scholarship fund," said Richard Campbell.

Funds raised at the Marathon will benefit the Krystle Campbell endowed scholarship fund established at UMass Boston as well as scholarship funds at the other UMass campuses.

The nine members of the 2015 "Run for Krystle" Boston Marathon Team are:

Salem, New Hampshire resident Rhonda Hodge, who is a student in the Doctor of Nursing Practice at UMass;
Tyngsboro, Mass. resident and UMass Dartmouth student Renee Laurencelle, who also ran the Boston Marathon in 2014;

In addition to the runners, the UMass community, including students, alumni, faculty and staff from all five campuses, will be cheering on the team the day of the Marathon. For more information about the Running for a Reason team or to donate, please visit:
