UMass Lowell Chancellor Search Committee Appointed

Boston - August 23,2006 - Today, 性闻联播 President Jack M. Wilson appointed the members of the committee established to conduct the search for a new UMass-Lowell chancellor.

"The UMass-Lowell campus, which was led so ably by former Chancellor William Hogan for the past 25 years, is poised for a new era of growth. That growth will benefit UMass-Lowell's students and the region," said President Wilson. "Historically, the City of Lowell - our longtime partner - has been the economic hub of the Merrimack Valley. This national search for a new UMass-Lowell chancellor is designed to identify the individual who will be best-equipped to lead this important institution of higher education into the future."

The members of the search committee are:

The committee will hold its first meeting in September.

The 21-member committee is chaired by Trustee and alumnus William O'Shea and includes UMass faculty members, trustees, alumni, the student trustee and friends of the University.

The University is conducting a formal search to replace William T. Hogan, who retired on July 3rd. David J. MacKenzie, executive director of the 性闻联播 Building Authority, was named interim chancellor. MacKenzie has also served as interim chancellor of the UMass-Boston campus.
