Chancellor finalists to visit UMass Amherst campus next week

The four distinguished finalists for Chancellor of the UMass flagship campus in Amherst will spend a day on campus next week meeting with students, faculty, staff, graduates, and community leaders.

Dr. Carlos E. Santiago, Chief Executive Officer of the Hispanic College Fund, will visit the Amherst campus Monday, March, 12, followed on Tuesday, March 13, by Dr. Susan D. Phillips, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at the University of Albany, State University of New York. On Wednesday, March 14, Dr. Kumble R. Subbaswamy, Provost of the University of Kentucky will visit the campus, while Dr. Sona K. Andrews, Vice Chancellor for Academic Strategies for the Oregon University system, will visit Thursday, March 15.

Each day, the Chancellor finalists will meet with faculty from 10:45 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., with students from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., and with staff from 1:45 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. All three meetings will take place in the Campus Center; the Monday through Wednesday meetings will be held on the 10th floor, while the Thursday meetings will be held on the 11th floor of the Campus Center. From 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. each day, an open campus meeting with the finalists will take place in Memorial Hall.
